The Canadian and World Studies Department consists of a History and Geography components. The History Office is located in Room 216 and can be reached at extension 40116. The school is located at in the historic town of Alliston, Ontario, and named in honour of Sir Frederick Banting who discovered insulin in 1921. The high school was opened in 1951 in his home town.
